Pilates Reformer Classes in Glen Ellyn

Small group pilates reformer classes to feel your best!

With no more than six students in a class, our small group classes provide personalized attention to help you meet your wellness goals. If you are brand new to reformer classes or our studio, please contact us so we can determine best next steps for you. Most clients start with an intro class, beginner series, or enjoy several private sessions before joining a group class on our schedule.

We offer several different levels of classes:

Level 1 Foundation - beginner friendly class or perfect for those who move at slightly slower pace and working to build up their strength. Foundational exercises will be taught. Recommended that clients who are brand new to pilates attend a beginner series, 30 minute intro class, or introductory private session before starting with this class. Core focus will be on the reformer but tower and chair might be incorporated.

Level 1 Therapeutic - This specialized class is designed for those who thought pilates wasn’t an option for them due to a hip replacement, shoulder injury, chronic health condition or other physical limitations. With a focus on safe, mindful movement, we use supportive modifications and expert guidance to help you build strength, mobility, and confidence. This class offers a welcoming space to move in a way that feels good for your body.

Level 1.5 Experienced - This is a challenging class, presumes prior experience and strong knowledge of pilates exercises. Tower and chair might be incorporated.

Level 2 Advanced - This is the same challenge as Level 1.5 but options for advanced pilates exercises will be offered. Tower and chair will be incorporated. Approval by the teacher is required to move into this class.

Pilates Reformer Classes

This dynamic small group workout combines precise movements and resistance training on specialized equipment including reformer, tower, and chair. Feel your core engage, muscles tone, and posture improve as you lengthen and strengthen with every session. Pilates leads to daily life improvements such as better posture, graceful and efficient movement, and relief from pain associated with physical imbalances. Our teachers will provide variations and modifications, ensuring that you progress at your own pace while also challenging yourself.

Why we love pilates at Balance!

Like yoga, pilates is a mind and body practice that emphasizes the importance of proper breathing during movement and can improve both strength and flexibility. They are wonderful compliments to each other and they even share some similar exercises! The focus in pilates is on the core of the body so that the rest of your body can move freely. Pilates has many of the same goals in mind, but one major difference between pilates and yoga is that in addition to mat work, different equipment can be incorporated like the reformer, chair, and cadillac.

I have been a client of this studio since its beginning. I can't say enough about the community and the beautiful people who lead classes and provide training. PIlates classes here have been the single best anti-aging decision I have made.

“I am grateful to have discovered Pilates Reformer classes at Balance. I tried a less expensive Pilates Reformer club and quickly realized the higher value of the equipment and level of instruction at this studio. With no more than five students in a reformer class, students benefit from continuous coaching and feedback. The vibe is professional and welcoming. The equipment is pristine. The team meets me where I am each step of the way in my wellness journey.”
